36th International Hegel Congress 2026 in Rome: "Hegel Global"
The 36th Hegel Congress took place in Rome (Roma Tre University) from September 1 to 4, 2026. A total of 470 participants from 55 different countries attended. We would like to warmly thank Prof. Francesca Iannelli and her team for the outstanding organization!
Change on the Advisory Board
On the occasion of the General Assembly of the Hegel Congress, three members of the Advisory Board of the International Hegel Society stepped down. We thank Rainer Adolphi (Berlin), Vesa Oittinen (Helsinki), and Valentin Kanawrow (Sofia) for their long-standing and valuable support! Xia Ying (Beijing) was elected as a new member of the Advisory Board.
37th International Hegel Congress 2028 in Oldenburg
At the General Assembly held during the Hegel Congress in Rome on September 3, 2026, it was decided that the Hegel Congress will take place in autumn 2028 at the University of Oldenburg (Germany) on the theme "Hegel. Gestalten der Zukunft."
Change in the Executive Board
For health reasons, Myriam Gerhard stepped down as chair of the IHG in January 2026. Brady Bowman has taken over as chair of the Executive Board. Holden Kelm will now support the Executive Board as managing director.
